Christine & Robert

What a lovely wedding this was, on the last weekend in October 2015. I found out that I had a friend connection with Christine at our first meeting (she absolutely scared my by refusing to shake my hand, but then said we had to hug instead!), and that just established my ongoing friendship with this gorgeous couple. This wedding had a huge focus on family with their children and grandchildren featuring in the wedding ceremony. And that fact made it all so very special to me and to their audience. Congratulations on your marriage Christine and Robert, you are lovely xx

"What Is Love"  -- Author Unknown

Sooner or later we begin to understand that love is more than verses on valentines and romance in the movies.
We begin to know that love is here and now, real and true, the most important thing in our lives.
For love is the creator of our favourite memories and the foundation of our fondest dreams.
Love is a promise that is always kept, a fortune that can never be spent, a seed that can flourish in even the most unlikely of places.
And this radiance that never fades, this mysterious and magical joy, is the greatest treasure of all – one known only by those who love."

Jess and Andy

What can I say about these two? Fun? Family? Laughter? Naughtiness? Sincerity? All of the above! Jess and Andy were married a few weeks ago, and they were just so delightful, both individually and as a family. They were so focussed on creating a terrific family day, making sure that their children were involved in the bridal party and in a great sand ceremony. And they had such a great sense of humour for the day, sharing their love for Batman. My highlight? Watching Andy dissolve as he saw his bride coming down the aisle. Right at that point I knew, beyond a doubt, that these two are absolutely perfect for one another. Congratulations Jess and Andy, I know you will be happy until the end of time xx

"Goreki"

"If I should die this very moment, I wouldn’t fear, for I’ve never known completeness, like being here, wrapped in the warmth of you, loving every breath of you, still my heart this moment – or it might burst.

Could we stay right here, ’til the end of time, ‘til the earth stops turning, I want to love you till the seas run dry, I’ve found the one I’ve waited for all this time.

I’ve loved you and never known your face, all this time I’ve missed you and searched this human race. Here is true peace; here my heart knows calm, safe in your soul – bathed in your sighs.

Could we stay right here ‘til the end of time, ‘til the earth stops turning I will love you till the seas run dry, I’ve found the one I’ve waited for. All I’ve known, all I’ve done, all I’ve felt, was leading to this."

Morag & Daryl.

A few weeks ago, I got to marry my bestie. I got to marry my bestie! And it was awesome, terrifying, wonderful, exhausting & just plain brilliant. I was so honoured to be her celebrant, to be the one to marry her to the love of her life, a man who has embraced her and her family and made their lives just that much better. It will be a long and strong marriage, that I know. And there was a good luck charm on the day, their cat was a permanent guest in the wedding crowd.

“Love is a temporary madness; it erupts like volcanoes and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is.Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of eternal passion. That is just being "in love" which any fool can do.

Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident. Those that truly love, have roots that grow towards each other underground, and when all the pretty blossom have fallen from their branches, they find that they are one tree and not two.”

Kristy & Robert: A match made in ferret heaven.

Kristy and Robert were married last weekend, at the ever lovely Kirk's Reservoir (even though it was a bit of a quagmire: fixed by a well placed and long carpet runner). It was a ceremony just overflowing with love and joy for each other, their family and their beloved ferrets, two of which featured in the bridal party entry. I do love a ferret, and I was so thrilled to have time with these gorgeous creatures. It was actually quite fun to try to find a reading involving ferrets that was suitable for a wedding, but I think I pulled it off! Thanks so much to Kristy and Robert for having me as your celebrant, it was such a joyful experience for me.

“The Ferret Love Poem”, written by Jessie Jett.

You hop around, and hide under beds. You jump, and launch to attack my head.
Your tail gets all puffy, when you get excited.
Don't even try my friend, because you can't hide it.
You steal everything. You! You take all my things.
Everything from pencils, to bells, my money and rings.
But how cute you are, I could never get mad. You brighten my day when I am sad.
Oh how you dance, and jump. You run and flop.
The noises you make send it over the top. What an amazing animal you are indeed.
You're a wonderful joy, a happiness, I need.

Kerren and Paul.

When Kerren and Paul asked me to marry them, I was so delighted. A second marriage for both, a small wedding with only their nearest and dearest, and not only a wedding, but a celebration of life and triumph. And what a celebration it was, and I was invited to stay to be a part of their after wedding festivities, which was great fun, especially as I also knew some of their guests. Congratulations Kerren and Paul, you created a magical family day xx

“Don’t Ever”

Don't ever try to understand everything - some things will just never make sense.
Don't ever be reluctant to show your feelings - when you're happy, give into it!
When you're not, live with it.
Don't ever be afraid to try to make things better - you might be surprised at the results. Don't ever take the weight of the world on your shoulders.
Don't ever feel threatened by the future - take life one day at a time.
Don't ever feel guilty about the past - what's done is done.
Learn from any mistakes you might have made.
Don't ever forget that you can achieve so many of the things you can imagine - imagine that!
It's not as hard as it seems.
Don't ever stop loving, don't ever stop believing; don't ever stop dreaming your dreams.”
